luv.tv is built around not being seen. Nobody can browse, search, or scroll through people, and nobody sees a photo of you unless you both choose to. Here's what we hold and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email, and when you accepted these terms.
- Profile: your ZIP code (or city), date of birth, how far you'd go for a date, what you're looking for, how you describe yourself, who you're open to talking with, the age range you want, and your passions. Other people see your age, your passions and a waveform drawn from them. They never see your birthday, ZIP, email, or phone number, how far away you are, or what you're looking for. We use only your ZIP's centre point, never your address or GPS, to measure distance for matching.
- Voice sample: if you do the mic check, a short recording used to check your levels. It's stored privately and never served on a public link.
- Notifications: if you turn them on for a device, the address your browser gives us to deliver them. Apple, Google or Mozilla carry the notification to your device; it says only that doors are open or that you're on.
- Phone number: only if you turn on texts. We confirm it with a code and keep a record of when you agreed to texts. We never share your phone number or your text opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Texts are only about your calls; reply STOP to stop or HELP for help.
- Calls: who you were paired with, when, and whether each of you said yes afterwards. We don't record calls. Audio goes live between the two of you and isn't stored.
- The Pick (our live show): if you vote, which way you voted; if you apply, your note. If you're cast and agree to go on air, your voice is broadcast live to the public as "the lead" or "Voice 2", never your name, along with your top five passions. We don't record the show. Ordinary calls are never broadcast.
- Reveal photo: only if you add one. It's stored privately and shown only to someone you've both agreed to reveal to.
- Safety: reports and blocks you make or receive.
- Luv Dr: what you ask the AI coach and what it replies. If you share a reply, only the advice is published, never your question.
- How you found us: the link or ad that brought you (for example a campaign tag), noted when you sign up. We count visits without storing your IP address or device details.
- Waitlist: your email and city, plus a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to stop spam. We never keep the raw IP.
How we use it
To match you, run your calls, tell you when your rooms open, keep people safe, and understand how the service is doing in aggregate. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who helps us run it
We use a few providers who process data on our behalf, only to run luv.tv:
- DigitalOcean: hosting, database and private file storage
- LiveKit: carries the live call audio (not recorded)
- Anthropic: powers Luv Dr and checks new passions
- Amazon Web Services (SES): sends email
- Twilio: sends texts, if you turned them on
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: counts site visits without cookies and without following you to other sites
We'll share data with authorities only when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Your choices
- Turn email, notifications or texts off in the "Ring me" step. Reply STOP to any text to end texts.
- Block or report anyone you've talked to.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account at [email protected].
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. When you delete it, we remove your profile, voice sample, photo and phone number. We may keep reports and minimal records for longer where safety or the law requires it.
